Do you need a break from daily routine and want to create your ceramic pieces by yourself ? Come and learn the basics with me, in small groups or in a private session! You will love it!
How can I learn?
I propose you 2 kinds of one-time classes for beginners (one session of 3 hours) that you can repeat as many times as you want, and that are held on Tuesday evening (18h30-21h30) or on Saturday (13h00-16h00) in my Atelier, based in Neder, Brussels (next to Docks and the canal).
You can also buy the 5 lessons PACK and come when you want if you like it !!
The group classes are for a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 6, but you can also ask me for a private class in a smaller group if you want.
You can also buy a GIFT VOUCHER for your friends & family, it will be an original gift to explore clay and be creative!
Classes Description:
- Ceramic Discovery - hand modeling : This class is perfect for a first start, and it offers a very good way to start knowing how clay works in your hands. You will be introduced to ceramic (kind of clays, firings, process...) and you will be able to try different hand building techniques so to create 2 pieces (like a mug, a cup, a bowl, a small box or vase...) that I will fire for you (included in the price). The glazing is not included, but you have different options (do the Glazing Discovery class or ask me to glaze them for you). You can also come with a simple project in mind you would like to realize during the class. After the first class, you can come back with a project that needs more time, and I will guide you to create that.
Clay is included up to 2kg (after is 1,5€/kg), and firing of the 2 pieces is included when mesuring about 20*20*20 (bigger pieces will be evaluated together).
- Ceramic Discovery - glazing : This class focuses on glazing your pieces, meaning adding color and a glass formed shell on the clay .
What is a glaze and how we do compose it? You will understand more about this fascinating universe and you will be able to glaze your own bisque fired pieces and to test other techniques on some small bisque fired bowls. You can test some techniques as drawing with underglazes, superpositions of different colors, brush and dip glazes. You will need to come back to discover the final results after the second firing at high temperature...

...You can also try the Pottery Wheel Class : If you dream about the feeling of the soft clay flowing in your hands you need to try the pottery wheel. With this technique you will be able to create perfect round shapes. As to reach this you need to be very focused on the right movements to do, I offer this class only for 1 person per class. In this way you will be guided on all your movements and will be able to improve much faster! It is all about exercise and balance of strenght, pression and gentleness...
Once you got the basis, you can come back with less guidance to try and try again so to improve every time more. For this class you can contact me directly to find a date suitable for you.

WHERE IS THE ATELIER ?
The Atelier Ad Hoc is based in Neder-over-Hembeek, at the stop HEEMBEEK (tram 3, 7, bus 56, 47). Direct by bike from the canal, 10 min by car from Brussels city center.
The exact address will be given after the confirmation to the class.
